Seminar: Lichens, Plants, and Air Quality

August 12 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Join us for a seminar at the Trail’s End Lodge with Roberta Burnes

Presenter: Roberta Burnes, Kentucky Division of Air Quality

Come learn what lichens and native plants can tell us about the air we breathe. Roberta Burnes will teach you how to categorize lichens by their sensitivity to sulfur and nitrogen pollution, and how to identify ozone damage on milkweed and other native plants.

Roberta Burnes is an environmental scientist advisor and educator with the Kentucky Division for Air Quality. She is a certified Master Environmental Educator and an avid champion of lichens and clean air.

This program is part of the Bluegrass Biodiversity Seminar Series, which offers free evening presentations on Kentucky’s natural history and biodiversity in the historic Trail’s End Lodge.

This event is generously sponsored by Vulcan Materials so that all attendees can join for free.
